Howdy to all. I am working on plans and will post when I get them, but I built a 4-way Spin-It game over the weekend. May not be quite as fun or challenging, but we had a blast playiing it all evening last night. I simply purchased a 1" cross, with 1"x3/4" bushing for each outlet (I used 3/4" for my base versus 1/2") then drilled a 1 1/8" hole through the middle of the cross. Threads right over the 3/4" pipe. I used colored tape to color the cross pieces. One other thing I did kind of different was drill a 1/4" hole in the golf balls (not all the way through), fill it half full of Gorilla Glue, then push my 3/16" damp cord into the hole. Let it set for an hour or two and your set to go.

I've played for several nights with my new 4-way spinner game. (See posts above). Very much enjoy it. I thought of another twist that may add (and may not) some fun and challenge to the game. Make a smaller "Ferris Wheel" for the inside. Simply take the same "Wheel" design and shorten all the pieces to allow it to fit inside the other. I will give it a try and let you know.

;)You can Use a 2" X 1/2" Cap and Mark every 72degreese. Use 5 1/2 " Caps to make your 5way Drill Holes in the center and use 6-32 1/2 Nut and bolt w/some thingyruction adhesive (E-6000) Glue to help sacure them. I have made several of these the 2" Cap Runs $1.99-$2.99each and the 1/2 Caps run $.25-$.39 each

Drill a 7/8" Hole in the center of the 2' X 1/2' Cap This is so your center bar will fit through so you can spin. I have plans but are unsure ho to post them.....

Great Design on the 5-way spinner. I can't wait to make mine using your plans. I have a question for you though. What are the Self tapping screws in the side of the Caps on the axle for? If you glue in the colored tines, do you still need the screws to hold in the pipe? Also, the 9 1/2" on the Tine legs, do you think they could be a bit longer or did you chose that length for a reason.
thanks MkyMous

My Husband and I uses self tapping screws so we could take it apart for travel reasons. We take our games everyware. You can glue it. It just makes it perminent. You could make them Longer but you would have to make your bolos longer as if you get your bolos on two tines you get points for both. I will post the rulse that we use here.

Ferris Wheel Golf: (Use 1 Ferris Wheel For this game.) The targets must be 20-30 feet apart (depending on age and skill level) and offset so the players can throw straight at the target. A coin flip determines who initially goes first, second and third. The game can be played with 2-6 players. Players throw their bolos toward the target. In each round the player with the highest score goes first. Each player or team has three bolos (two balls attached by rope). At the beginning of each round, the player or team throwing last has the option of spinning the wheel on the target. The wheel must make one complete revolution or it will have to be spun again. Each player throws one bolo. When all players have thrown a bolo, each then throws their second bolo, and then their third. The toss must be made underhand while holding on to only one ball. There are 6 bars, 5 on the wheel (1 blue, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 orange, 1 red), and one in the center (gold). Blue = 1 point; green = 2 points; yellow = 4 points; orange = 6 points; red = minus 6 points; and Gold (center) = 8 points. At the end of a round, if there is an odd number of bolos on a bar, the last person to land on the bar gets the points for that bar. If there is an even number of bolos on the bar, they are worth zero points (this allows a person to block or unblock points). If a player gets all three of their tosses on the same color (except red), they get 3 times the value of the bar plus 5 extra points (even if there is an even number of bolos on that bar). If they get all three bolos on the red, they get zero points. To count, the rope has to be touching the colored part of the bar.If the rope is touching the colored part of more than one bar, the value of the bars are added together. The first team to reach 30 points, wins. If two teams are both at or over 30 by the end of the round, the team with the highest number wins. In case of a tie, the tying teams play until one leads at the end of a round.
Scoring Summary Blue = 1 point* Green*= 2 points* Yellow* = 4 points* Orange = 6 points* Red =*minus 6 points* Gold (Center) = 8 points* Rope must touch the bar to count* If a rope is touching more than one bar the points are added together. If an odd number of bolos are touching the same bar, the last person to toss the bolo gets the value of bar. If an even number of bolos are touching the same bar, the points for each bolo on the bar is zero*

Hi, thanks for the plans...it looks great.
Can you tell me what the distance is between each rung once your ferris wheel is assembled?

Mr Pythagorean says the bars are 12" apart...is that correct?

They are about 15" apart. You can use a smaller cap 1 1/2" to make them closer together. The smaller caps run $1.49 -$1.69

Can you let us know how much $ it ended up costing you (pvc, fittings, paint, everything) to build either one or two ferris wheel goals?
Thanks!

It ended up causting around $75 But if you already have a good plastic spray paint -$30 and if you can get your golf ball for free -$17.00. My husband and I go in early spring or in the fall after the firt frost and pick them up behind a driving randge. We usuall come home with a 5 gallon bucket full... washing them is for the pits because you have to scrub the dirt off them but it saves $$$. And your spray paint... We are on our fourth set and we haven't had to buy any yet.

OK, thanks. The $50 price for a retail two goal set looks pretty fair then.

Folks may have to settle with this 6-way pvc component at the following link unless they want to make their own 7-way one like on page one of this topic that the old "spin it game" had made for their proprietary game. They are no longer in business, so finding that 7-way wheel part is not going to be easy. flexpvc.com/cart/agora.cgi?product=PVC-Fittings-6-ways
