Will someone please put this straight? I have seen construction plans showing the 6" hole to be centered on the plywood (naturally) and the center of the hole to be located 9" down from the top of the board. I have also seen plans that show the center of the hole being located 12" down from the top of the board.....which is 'actually' correct?!? I have been making them centered 9" down from the top....I certainly hope that I have been making them right!! The playing distances shown on the ACA site do not 'add' up, and I would like to have this clarified. Thanks in advance for your replies! Keep on tossin'!! truhawk88

The center is 9" down, not 12" down. What plans show 12" down? If you ask the ACO, they say 8 7/8" down, which is, well, 9" in my eyes. The ACA states 9" down. My plans that I built off of state 9" down. See here: Steve

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I think I know what you are speaking of. Ya see, the center of the 6" hole is 9" down from the top AND 12" over from each side. I think the 12" over is where you may be getting confused if the board plan is sideways.
You definitely have been making them right.

THANKS MUCH, Steve!! I had looked at plans not long ago that were showing 12" in from the side (no brainer) and 12" down from the top and I got to thinking.....is this RIGHT?!?!? I have been constructing them with the hole centered from the side and 9" to the center from the top down....I 'thought' that was correct. You have put my mind at rest, Steve....THANKS! Respectfully, truhawk88
