As you all know, regulation 2x4 boards are placed 27' apart and 33' apart hole to hole. If you are using the smaller tailgate boards and still want to play regulation distance "tossing distance", then the boards should be placed 28' apart front to front which would still allow a 30' toss from the front of the board to the hole. If you can't visualize it, then draw a photo. You will see that the tossing spanse of 30' will be the same when spaced 28' apart.
